We bring responsibility for nature, local communities, cultural heritage, and future generations into our everyday decisions.

Our environmental, social, and economic approach

This English version is provided for information. The Turkish policy remains the source text.

Through the Soul House Kuşadası Sustainability Policy, we adopt a responsible approach to hospitality that considers the relationship between the natural, social, and economic environment.

We give sustainability a place in our services so that we can protect the environment, support the local community, and help leave a more liveable world to future generations. Our aims include reducing waste, using energy efficiently, supporting renewable energy, choosing local suppliers, and favouring products that cause less environmental harm.

Protecting cultural heritage is an important part of this policy. We take care that tourism does not damage or contribute to the deterioration of cultural heritage.

We help guests learn about Türkiye’s historic buildings, art, local traditions, and gastronomy, and we support our team through continued training and development on these subjects.

Across our environmental, economic, and social activities, we continue to consider sustainability with future generations in mind.

Our sustainable tourism policies seek a balance between people and nature while helping protect cultural heritage and create a more sustainable future for tourism.

We aim to set environmental goals, continually improve our environmental performance, raise awareness among employees, guests, and suppliers, and support environmental awareness in the wider community. We seek to combine excellent service with benefits for economic growth, environmental protection, community participation, and employment while complying with applicable environmental laws and regulations.

Local awareness

Together with our team, we seek to understand the geography and community around us, respect local history and traditions, and contribute to the area’s economic, social, and cultural development.

  • We support the protection of local resources and continued access to them.
  • We support local culture and traditions and do not permit discrimination based on views, ethnicity, belief, or vulnerability. We recognise that visitors contribute their cultures to regional development and should be welcomed with hospitality.
  • We consult so that local characteristics, sensitivities, and community needs can be considered in decisions.
  • We support the protection of historic and archaeological works.
  • We work with the local community to support one another, protect historic and cultural assets, and help prevent damage to the natural character of the area.
  • We support local employment and purchasing to contribute to the regional economy.
  • We help stakeholders introduce the region’s food, activities, culture, traditions, religious and cultural places, natural assets, and biodiversity, beginning with relevant training for our team.
  • In our relationship with local communities, we seek to work together around shared goals that protect these values.

Water management

We recognise that clean water will become even more important to a healthy future.

  • We use aerated taps and shower heads with reduced flow to limit unnecessary water use.
  • Guest rooms have two level flush controls and cisterns with reduced volume to limit flushing water.
  • We train our team to identify and prevent leaks in guest room bathrooms and ask guests to tell us if they notice a leak.
  • We water the garden only at night to reduce excessive consumption and evaporation.
  • We work with guests to reduce the water used for laundry by changing towels and sheets every two days or when requested.
  • We aim to reduce water consumption through training and infrastructure improvements.

Women’s rights and gender equality

Gender equality matters in our workplace.

  • We safeguard the health, safety, and wellbeing of employees without distinction based on gender.
  • We support women’s participation across departments and offer equal opportunities.
  • We follow the principle of equal pay for equal work without gender discrimination.
  • We assign responsibilities with equality in mind.
  • We work to provide equal access to career opportunities.
  • We create training policies that support women’s participation and greater awareness.
  • We work to create practices and a workplace that support balance between work and family life.
  • We support women’s participation in company management and offer equal opportunities.
  • We do not tolerate abuse, harassment, discrimination, suppression, coercion, or defamation of women. We recognise and support the value women bring to our organisation and the wider world.

Children’s rights

Children carry the future. Recognising them as individuals, respecting their rights, and protecting them from psychological, physical, commercial, or other exploitation are primary responsibilities.

  • We do not permit child labour in our business and expect the same care from our partners.
  • We seek to provide settings where children can develop, express their thoughts, wishes, and feelings, and feel free and comfortable.
  • We train employees to recognise and prevent child abuse.
  • We support training and relevant projects that raise awareness of children’s rights.
  • If we witness suspicious conduct involving a child, we first inform hotel management and seek help from official authorities when necessary.
  • We advise guests and employees not to purchase from child vendors.

Energy efficiency

We use energy carefully and set objectives to reduce consumption as part of our responsibility to the planet.

  • We follow relevant national and international standards, laws, and regulations; voluntarily work to reduce energy use and improve energy performance; and monitor the results.
  • We set objectives and include energy efficiency in training so employees can participate.
  • We value cooperation with our guests, employees, visitors, partners, and other stakeholders to build shared energy management goals and awareness.
  • We research and seek to purchase and use products, equipment, and technology that use energy efficiently.
  • We aim to document our energy management approach, extend it across departments, review it, update it when needed, and continually improve it.
  • We assess energy risks and possible shortages and plan appropriate precautions.

Environmental protection and waste management

Contributing to responsible tourism by adopting sustainability across our team is a central objective. We work to protect the environment, prevent pollution, and reduce our negative effects.

  • We monitor and comply with legal requirements and work to reduce our environmental impact.
  • We seek to separate waste effectively by source, group, and hazard class and arrange disposal under applicable environmental rules.
  • We recognise that using hazardous substances and chemicals only when and in the amounts needed reduces environmental harm and waste, and we train employees regularly on chemical use.
  • When purchasing materials, we seek products marked as recyclable or environmentally responsible.
  • We seek opportunities for reuse.
  • We use disposable paper, napkins, toilet paper, packaging, and similar materials only as needed to reduce waste.
  • We store waste separately according to its characteristics, transfer it to licensed or authorised providers within legal time limits, and retain records.
  • We use water, energy, and natural resources carefully and share this approach with employees, guests, and suppliers.
  • We measure environmental management performance, follow the data against objectives, and work to improve.
  • We aim to educate employees and suppliers and maintain a current Emergency Response Team list with regular drills for potential emergencies and disasters.

Guest relations

Our guest relations policy focuses on satisfaction, continuing communication, and reducing the environmental effects of the services we provide during a stay.

Responsible guest relations support both the quality of each stay and our long term environmental and cultural aims.

  1. Environmental awarenessWe work with guests to reduce our environmental impact, aim to use environmentally responsible products and services, and encourage lower consumption of food, water, electricity, and laundry resources.

We aim to work with suppliers and solution partners toward a more sustainable future.

We share these priorities with suppliers, look for efficient purchasing opportunities, and work to reduce the environmental effects of supply processes.

  • We value suppliers with quality assurance, environmental, and occupational health and safety systems and recognised environmental or sustainability labels and certificates.
